Job Purpose

 

  • Maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring proper storage conditions for perishable and non-perishable goods, and implementing strategies to minimize waste and spoilage.
  • Managing the flow of goods into and out of the warehouse, coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and customers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation.
  • Overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping orders.
  • Managing warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
  • Ensuring adherence to all relevant safety regulations, security protocols, and workplace health standards.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Working with other departments within the company, including sales, procurement, and production, to ensure smooth coordination and communication.
  • Managing the warehouse budget, including expenses related to staffing, supplies, and maintenance.
  • Monitoring and analyzing warehouse performance metrics, such as order fill rates, cycle times, and accuracy, to identify areas for improvement.

 

Salary

 

  • Salary: Salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
  • Pay Range: $25,000 minimum to $40,000 maximum

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintaining accurate inventory records of all agricultural products, including crops, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other related supplies.
  • Regularly conducting cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Implementing inventory management techniques like FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and batch tracking to optimize stock levels, minimize spoilage, and prevent overstocking.
  • Analyzing demand trends and forecasts to ensure adequate stock levels and prevent shortages.
  • Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods into the warehouse.
  • Managing the shipping of agricultural products to customers, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and timely delivery.
  • Utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software to manage inventory, track shipments, and generate reports.
